Coral Themed Shower for Baby Elsa

Inspired by a friend’s necklace with coral, seahorse and starfish hanging, Baby Elsa’s shower décor began. We started with a custom invite featuring the coral pattern, graphics of the crib, mobile with a seahorse, starfish, shellfish and the baby Elsa’s name

An “E” made out of starfish was the backdrop of the bar with specialty mimosas and bellinis called “Momosas” and “Babyllinis.” The drink names were on custom coral tent cards and sliced star fruit topped the glasses to resemble starfish.

The dessert table featured red and blue treats with cake pops by Southern Belle’s Cakery, custom cookies from Gumdrop Cookie Shop had the coral pattern and her monogram, seahorse lollipops from SweetLeslie540 on etsy.com and cupcakes topped with starfish from DD’s cupcakes.

A “Baby Elsa” banner from Party Starters hung above the dessert table. Paper poms from Party Poms on etsy.com hung above the bar, dessert table and as part of the coral and shells centerpiece. We had a “make a wish” custom frame with tealight candles to float in the pool after making a wish for the mom-to-be.

Seahorse and coral napkins from Pineapples, Palms, Etc. were displayed in a coral piece on the food table. Custom coral patterned picks were in the mini quiche along with other delicious appetizers made by the mom-to-be’s friend.

This was a special day with friends and family to celebrate my sister and soon to be niece.

Jessica Ricci Jewelry Featured on Apartment Therapy Blog

Jessica Ricci Jewelry's new boutique in Providence, RI featured on one of our favorite blogs, http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/.

Boutiques are always excellent sources for home inspiration — and this bright shop in Rhode Island's Hope Artiste Village is no exception. Jessica Ricci creates decorative treasures and delicate jewelry inspired by her world travels and displays them in re-purposed furniture, modernized with coats of white and silver paint.

The space is full of clever ideas from window shutters used as hanging shelving to a vintage mirror transformed into a dramatic coffee table. The sparkling jewelry — much of which is based on vintage home goods such as keys and linens — and dainty miniature spoons and forks are displayed humbly in hanging lanterns and on a bed of black beans. The mostly-windowless shop is opened up with loosely painted silver lines around Jessica's travel photographs, that serve as both informal frames for the artwork and give the impression of a glimpse outdoors. See some "before" photographs of the space on Jessica Ricci's blog and visit her website, jessicariccijewelry.com, to see more of her work.

The Holiday Lookbook is a product to press gift fair held twice a year where the media can stop by and explore the newest and most notable products of the season. This press review is an exclusive opportunity for select brands to present their new products and services to invited media outlets, in time for holiday gift guide coverage as well as opportunities for timely on-air segments. About Jessica Ricci Jewelry Jessica Ricci finds objects with past lives and translates them into jewelry. She draws upon her own experience as a journalist, English teacher, former ex-pat, international volunteer, and jewelry designer to create hand-crafted pieces that are anchored in symbolism, history and sentimentality. A portion of proceeds from various collections goes to Nest, an organization which provides micro-finance loans for women in third world countries.

• Travel Jewelry: Jessica Ricci’s travel collections are created from discarded objects unearthed in the markets, bazaars and out-of-the-way destinations from Paris to Mumbai and Kathmandu to Buenos Aires. Jessica often volunteers in the country she visits for inspiration.

Under the Sea - Captain Colson's 1st Birthday

When guests entered the party they were greeted with photos of Captain Colson throughout his first year hung on fishing net with scattered starfish. The dessert table with a custom backdrop with whale art from Michaels featured shark cupcakes and sea life cookies from Cake Kingdom, assorted Under the Sea candy from The Bulk Candy Store and whale suckers from Oriental Trading. The buffet included Peanut Butter and “Jellyfish” Sandwiches, Spinach Dip as “Seaweed” Dip, “Chicken of the Sea” Tenders, Seashell Pasta Salad and other assorted sea-related food on custom tent cards. The tables were lined with octopus placements by Dabney Lee at Home from The Back Porch and centerpieces of floating fish with shells, sand and a shark fin above water. The signature non-alcoholic drink was “Captain Colson’s Ocean Potion” which was a mixture of pineapple, ginger ale, apple cider and white grape juice. There were also custom “Captain Colson’s First Birthday” koozies and napkins. Photography by Alana Harris Photography.
