A must see - Eataly NYC

I’ve heard a lot about Mario Batali’s collaboration, Eataly, so my last trip to New York I wanted to check it out and it was more than I expected. And they say it best “It’s more than a supermarket with restaurants. It is an energetic marketplace, an opportunity to taste and take home the products of artisans.” We had a glass of wine at Il Pesce while we waiting for our table in the rooftop beer garden. Eataly includes seven restaurants focusing on the different markets—vegetables, pizza, pasta, meat and seafood within the marketplace where you can also shop for fresh pasta, cheese, meats, etc. It’s amazing the hustle and bustle of people eating and drinking, buying groceries, cookbooks, utensils, etc.

Kaas Glassworks - Great Find by Sheridan French

Months ago I saw Sheridan French mention Kaas Glassworks, a handmade decoupage store in NY, and wanted to check it out the next time I was in the city. On my recent trip, I headed to the West Village and what a treat. This quaint and cozy store is so unique and I can't wait to make a custom piece. There are many pieces in the store to choose from too.

Kaas Glassworks involves the art of decoupage under glass. Each piece is put together by hand using reprinted images that we have collected from frequent trips to flea markets, antique shows and estate sales.

The final result is a sentimental collection of trays, plates, coasters and paperweights. Both decorative and functional, each piece may be used on a table or dresser, or displayed on the wall with the use of a simple plate hanger.

"Sip and Sea" Featured in The Party Dress Magazine

I was so excited and honored when Kelly Lyden from The Party Dress asked me to be apart of her second issue of The Party Dress Magazine.

This party was inspired by an octopus table runner I spotted months ago at Pioneer Linens and wanted to incorporate into an upcoming event theme. It dawned on me that it would be the perfect opportunity to plan a Sip and See to welcome a new baby, but to use a play on words with “Sea”.

I wanted to do a non-traditional Under the Sea theme, so I pulled together a stunning tablesetting featuring a natural textured runner, and paired it with a sparkly aqua blue, mermaid-like linen, and coral table top décor from VM Flowers. I created a custom invite with a textured look similar to the runner with an octopus and turtle. The napkins and shell napkin rings were also from Pioneer Linens, and were paired with aqua blue plates from Z Gallerie. I was obsessed with the little details, like the natural hangtags with blue octopus from Magnetoid Magnets on Etsy. I kept the desset table simple with an octopus and turtle cookie bouquet, and cupcakes were from The Sugar Monkey. Decorations included a custom “Greyson” sign made by PartyStarters and newborn photo by Brooke Logue Photography. The suitcases, aqua blue coral and frame also added to our theme décor.

This theme could also work well for a baby shower! The soothing, cool yet sophisticated color palette is the perfect way to welcome a new baby!

Muses & Visionaries

I had the pleasure of getting a sneak peek at the new Muses & Visionaries in downtown West Palm Beach. I must tell you it is beyond exciting to have something like this in our town. From the minute you walk in the door you can feel the energy. The décor is the perfect eclectic mix of sleek, modern and rustic pieces (and some from my favorite Pineapples, Palms, Etc. too)with artwork from collaborating artists. I can’t wait to spend more time there!

Muses & Visionaries was designed around the notion that a place of function can also be one of style and beauty. With a 4,000 square feet of bright open space, they offer a daily retreat outside of home and office where women can flourish and find enrichments, enjoy a unique place to read, relax, socialize, meet, work, or think in a positive and intellectually rejuvenating environment. Members may take advantage of the club’s library and creative resources, sitting areas for lounging solo, relaxed workspaces for groups, and a large and chic conference room. The space is ideal for exclusive, special events, such as lectures, art exhibits, interactive forums, and learning opportunities guided by the needs and desires of their members.

Muses & Visionaries aspires to create an enlightened environment where dynamic and creative women can come together to draw inspiration for their work and lives. They offer a unique space and is intended to nurture fresh ideas, foster connections, and act as a catalyst for both independent and collaborative work. Muses & Visionaries will cultivate a supportive milieu for women to move forward as thinkers, artists, innovators, trend-setters and entrepreneurs.
