Junior League of the Palm Beaches 2nd Annual Tea and Tastings

I am excited to be speaking with Katherine Lande at the Junior League of the Palm Beaches 2nd Annual Tea and Tastings on Saturday, October 29, 2011 1:00- 4:00 pm at the Borland Center at Midtown, Palm Beach Gardens. Each table host will be decorating their table with interpretation of “Tea Through the Ages.” Tickets are required $40 per ticket. Atlantic-Pacific and Just B’s DIY American Apparel Bag

Fellow Gator, Blair from the Atlantic-Pacific blog featured the above striped American Apparel bag that I instantly fell in love with. The Just B blog featured DIY instructions that I tweaked to add the striped pattern. I lined up the in painter’s tape to create the stripes and spaces between each. My sister shared a recent post from guest blogger Sabrina Vavra on Modern Chic Home’s blog Belle Maison. It was such a great article on Branding I had to share. “The Power of Consistency In Your Brand” which she followed up with “11 Immediate Ways To Promote Consistency In All You Do” are must reads no matter what business you are in. Her best example – Anthropologie - From Anthropologie’s store front and catalogs to the clothing and home accessories they carry, their brand and image are recognizable in seconds. In the world of events it has even become a word to describe a décor style. Vavra says, “Think multi-dimensional with regards to everything from your logo, choice of colors, and layout. Look at their choice of verbiage, models, lighting, and layout. The whole shebang screams their vision. You know in a millisecond that one is an organic spin on the well-traveled, inspired, mid 30’s woman interested in fashion. The other immediately lets you know that this is not just your run of the mill tattoo artist. This is a hybrid blend of Tibetan script and tattoos with a spiritual twist to it. They both set the stage for their message. They invite you in and show you their vision so you know what to expect. They promote an idea and follow that idea up with consistency throughout their brand and website.”

DIY Hex Nut Bracelet – thanks to Just B and Honestly…WTF

My assistant found this awesome bracelet on the Just B blog and we just had to make one. With some hex nuts from the local hardware store and lavender memory thread from Michael’s (we couldn’t find the suggested twine), we recreated the hex nut bracelet. Recently I participated in the Sterling Vineyards Ultimate Host Challenge in partnership with Pizzazzerie. The objective: entertaining on a dime. You have six guests coming over, a $75 budget and Sterling Vintner’s Collection Cabernet or Chardonnay. How do you put on a gathering for six on a shoestring budget?
