Manicures and Mimosas to Celebrate Mom with Katherine Lande at Muses & Visionaries Featured in The Party Dress; photos by Lena Hyde Photography

The runway to table design concept was inspired by Diane von Furstenberg's Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Known for her prints and bold use of color, we focused on interjecting the graphic and floral patterns represented in the collection throughout the overall design of the table. The “Manicures & Mimosas for Moms,” hosted by Beth Beattie of Beth Beattie Branding, PR and Events and Katherine Lande, Fashion Editor and Stylist of KL Style, Inc. was held at Muses & Visionaries. Muses & Visionaries, a modern salon for women to dream, inspire, support and create, is a unique space intended to nurture fresh ideas, foster connections and act as a catalyst for both independent and collaborative work.

The tablescape incorporated bursts of bright colors, including the vivid poppy centerpieces by VM Flowers, orange glasses from Bloomingdale’s and a personal collection of fashion books. The plates and chargers were from Diane von Furstenberg’s Home Collection at Bloomingdale’s and the modern floral twist placemats were from Didriks. The black and white graphic napkins from Target were inspired from fabric patterns shown on the runway. The placecards were different runway looks from the collection and we put them in acrylic frames with each guest’s name signed in gold. The silverware was dipped in a custom purple from Plasti Dip’s Create Your Color Kit. Guests enjoyed sweet treats of macarons and mini cupcakes from The Sugar Monkey and POP Champagne splits and mimosas. Guests received nail polishes from Sephora and Diane perfume from Bloomingdale’s.

Madeira Housewares Announces Mario Batali Partnership with Debut at INTERNATIONAL HOME + HOUSEWARES SHOW in Chicago

MADEIRA HOUSEWARES ANNOUNCES MARIO BATALI PARTNERSHIP WITH DEBUT AT INTERNATIONAL HOME + HOUSEWARES SHOW IN CHICAGO

Jupiter, Florida (March 7, 2012) —Madeira Housewares, makers of 100% sustainable plantation teak cutting boards and chopping blocks, will debut its Mario Batali collection at the International Home + Housewares Show (Booth #S-1680) in Chicago from March 10-13th.

Like all Madeira products, the Mario Batali cutting boards and chopping blocks are of the highest quality, fully crafted with Madeira's plantation teak. "Our teak is farm-raised and cultivated using only the most responsible forestry practices," says Madeira founder Jason Norcross. "We're excited that Chef Batali is collaborating on this new collection."

For Batali, this relationship is just one more way to share his unique approach and personality with America's at-home cooks. "These boards are perfect for anyone who wants the highest quality sustainable equipment for each step of creating a meal in their home kitchen," Batali says. "We've designed each piece for specific tasks - from slicing and chopping vegetables to carving meat and even serving, every step of food preparation has been carefully considered."

Norcross also points out that plantation teak is an eco-friendly alternative to standard hardwoods. "Plantation teak is ideal for a professional-grade collection like this, in that it will not dull knives but still offers long lasting durability."
